Linda Hunter Adams Scholarship

The Linda Hunter Adams Scholarship was established to support Editing and Publishing students at Brigham Young University. Linda Hunter Adams was a much loved professor of editing and publishing at BYU for thirty years. She cared deeply about her students and through her teaching and mentoring helped many students start productive careers in publishing. This scholarship was established to continue her legacy of helping students gain experience in editing and publishing.

Eligibility
To be eligible for the Linda Hunter Adams Scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be pursuing an undergraduate degree in Editing and Publishing in the Department of Linguistics at Brigham Young University
  • Have a relatively greater financial need

Award Information
Scholarship amounts and the number of recipients may vary from year to year based on available funding and applicant qualifications.

Application Process
Students interested in being considered for the Linda Hunter Adams Scholarship should complete the Department of Linguistics scholarship application during the annual scholarship application period, which runs from January through the middle February.

Recipients will be selected by the Department of Linguistics scholarship committee based on enrollment in the Editing and Publishing major or minor and financial need. Applicants must complete FAFSA prior to applying.

Timeline
Applicants for the Linda Hunter Adams Award will open early 2027. The application deadline will be February 15th. Scholarships will be announced in the spring and applied to the following academic year.
